Nha Trang, Vietnam



Geography: The south central coast has Vietnam’s finest beaches and the best-known beach resort of Nha Trang with its white sandy beach and swaying palm trees. Nha Trang is located in Vietnam which is in southeastern Asia, bordering the Gulf of Thailand, Gulf of Tonkin, and South China Sea, as well as China, Laos, and Cambodia.

Weather You Should Expect: Nha Trang is sunny all year round, with an average temperature of 23°C due to northern winds. The rainfall is less than anywhere else in the country and the area is not threatened by storms since it is protected by the Truong Son Mountains and Ca Pass.

What You Must See: The places to see are the National Oceanographic Museum of Vietnam, Long Son Pagoda, Po Nagar Cham Towers and Bao Dai Villa to get a great view of the Nha Trang bay. The magnificent coral seabed in Nha Trang makes it ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling. Getting a guide and going trekking inland is perhaps the least known activity in Nha Trang. Traveling through rice fields and small, colorful farm villages is makes getting to the mountains half the fun.

Places to Try: Vinpearl Land is the most famous 5 star resort and amusement park on Hon Tre Island.  In order to get there, you must take cable cars which are considered to be the longest in the world.  This is where the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants are held.  

Historical Fact: Historically, the city was known as Kauthara under the Champa and you can still see the last remnants of that time in the form of the Po Nagar Tower of Champa in Nha Trang.

Science Fact: West of Nha Trang, there are endless mountain ranges where a wide variety of animals and birds live. Nha Trang has many specialties. Especially, bird’s nest soup, or swallow’s nest soup is very famous in Nha Trang and round Vietnam.

Interesting Fact:  Extending 1,650 km north to south, the country is only 50 km across at its narrowest point


Fun Fact: Nha Trang used to be no more than small fishing villages until the French colonization. Now the 7km white sand beach of Nha Trang is often called Vietnam’s Mediterranean Area, considered one of the jewels along Vietnam's long stretching coast line.

Everything You Need to Know About the Flag:


The flag is a red field with a large yellow five-pointed star in the center. The red symbolizes revolution and blood, the five-pointed star represents the five elements of the populace - peasants, workers, intellectuals, traders, and soldiers - that unite to build socialism.
