Days 76 and 77 - Asian Dinner and Dunking!

We are headed for Sri Lanka and for some reason we got confused and thought we only had 1 sea day, when we found we had 2!!!   Hurray, as we needed them to do the usual planning, laundry etc.

The  highlight of Thursday was the Asian Formal Night and the highlights of Friday were twofold:  the dunking of 22 crew including Captain Jonathan Mercer to aid the orphanage in Sri Lanka and the presence of Krishna and Gita at our table for dinner.

The Asian Formal Night:

From the sublime to the ridiculous - today many of the crew members and Captain Jonathan got dunked in the pool for a fundraiser for a children's orphanage in Sri Lanka.  It was really funny as the captain sat on the seat in his uniform, and they got Karen to toss the balls into the hoop, to see if he would get thrown in the pool! He did a salute all the way in much to the glee of everyone.  What a great sport he is!

We had the Indian Ambassador at our table for dinner this evening.  What and amazing man he is, with a remarkable career that spanned Nepal, UK, South Africa, US - and although retired he is involved in some extremely interesting activities.
