Another two great days! I started watercolors again and used acrylics for the first time. I tried to recreate some aboriginal art work. I also started crocheting again, I never did finish the scarf I started so back to work on that! We went to a cooking demonstration by George Geary, he is really excellent and funny too!
There was also a kitchen tour of the vast kitchens of the ship! I was mesmerized by the large operation that was in operations behind the scenes here on the ms Amsterdam. We saw the different stations - coolers, pastries, meat, etc and we saw they preparing food and the very intricate food decorations!
We had another formal night this evening! Jane wasn't feeling so well, so her and Barry skipped dinner so therefore me, my mom, and Art joined Linda and Gary at the early seating! We had a wonderful table by the window and enjoyed a really lovely evening!
It is amazing to be sailing all this way because you see so many things that you never see before! One day we looked into the ocean as we were sailing through the Great Barrier Reef area and there were jelly fish in the sea. Not just one or two but thousands of them floating in the water. They were about 6-10 inches in diameter, bluish in color, and they were swimming with that contracting movement they do that looks like they are pulsing through the water. Mike and Pauline constantly sit on the back deck with their binoculars searching the water for sea life! They have seen flying fish, orcas, dolphins, birds of all sorts, and probably more things! I have come to realize you have to be looking all the time to see these things, but when you actually try to envision just how vast the oceans of the world are, it is sheer luck that you see any creature at all!
