Days 54 and 55 - Leaving Australia and More Scenery!

We continued Thursday to sail through the Great Barrier Reef  and out of the Torres Strait.  Today, Friday we dropped off our pilot at Booby Island on the north coast of Australia in the Arafusa  Sea between Papua New Guinea and Australia.

The scenery is quite unspoiled - just vast expanses of hills and islands and large flat mangroves that look like they are floating in the ocean.  We imagine the mangroves are filled with salt water crocodiles and snakes.

We also passed a shipwreck which could not be recovered from the reef upon which it came aground.

I finally finished my shawl that I have been knitting! It turned out really well for my first ever knitting project! It goes over my head and drapes over my shoulders.

We are also planning our shopping excursions in Hong Kong as there are a lot of us who plan to find bargains.

The first night we went to a Murder Mystery Dinner at the Pinnacle!  It was great!  We met the cast of characters at the Hudson Room and they all introduced themselves and each played their character very well!  Then we went to the dining

See how the water changes color as we sail!

The next night we had a full table for dinner as Jonathan, Karen, Linda, Gary and Friso, the first officer, will dine with us. It should be alot of fun!
