Chilean Fjords

Geography: Chilean fjords are a very sparsely populated dissected region of islands, channels, inlets, straits, and bays.  The Chilean fjords extend south into Tierra del Fuego, the territory at the southern tip of South America that is divided between Chile and Argentina.
Distance from Pittsburgh: 10,455km or 6,496miles
Terrain: Ice and Glaciers!
What You Must See: Glaciers and maybe a few towns and cattle ranches to be seen along the shores.

Science Fact: The southern coast of Chile presents a large number of fjords and fjordlike channels from the latitudes of Cape Horn to Reloncaví Estuary.

Interesting Fact: The fjords have served as a natural barrier preventing north-south land travel in Chilean Patagonia without passing trough Argentina.
