Days at sea can be described with food!
In hopes not to gain too much weight, I ran, went to the gym then it was time for breakfast. Not only is there fruit and cereal, there is every style egg you can imagine - dippy, overeasy, scrambled, poached, etc. Then there is all types of breakfast meats, breads, pastries and so much more. What I am most intrigued with is the french toast selections! There are all different types of french toasts....Carrot cake, Chocolate Chip, Olive Oil, Zucchini bread, Banana Bread, Raisin Bread, Cinnamon Raisin Bread, etc. It is pretty impressive!
So besides starting my day eating, I went to knitting again and I am about half way through my square that I am crocheting for a blanket to be given to a village at various ports along our trip. I am picking up figuring out how to crochet, but it is only a single stitch. I have much more to learn!
Everyday at sea in the Culinary Arts Center, there is a showcase that features different chefs, such as the pastry chef, executive chef, to demonstrate how to cook a particular entree, appetizer or dessert from their menu. In the past, there were demonstrations on how to filet a chicken, how to make creme brûlée, and many other foods! Today the Pinnacle Grill Chef, which is the speciality restaurant on board, demonstrated how to make crab cakes and chocolate volcano cake! We were able to sample them too!
So that ended at noon, oh time for lunch! There is a group of about 15 people from Cruise Critic that meets at the LIdo, right in front of the doors, to have lunch. After lunch, its time for watercolors! Today we drew doors that we saw in Olinda. The sample door was awesome, mine however was not! It didn't really look like a door! It is still drying and I would like to add a few more details!
Big surprise... its time for high tea! Which means little sandwiches and way too many desserts! Today was a Brazilian High Tea... the walls were draped in the Brazilian flag and the table was filled with an endless amount of desserts and sandwiches! There were also hand carved watermelons and a tower made out of chocolate! Finally after the endless amounts of activities and eating, I was able to go to the Explorers Lounge to work on my class, and write this. Although the internet connection was not very good, so hoping for the best!
